About Tilthwick

Tilthwick is a practical handbook for UK allotment holders: how to get a plot, how to plan and rotate it, how to kit it out, and what to do each month. We write for the person on the waiting list, the new plot-holder looking at a half plot of brambles, and the grower planning next year's rotation.

What we do

What we don't do

Who writes it

Everything is written and checked by the Tilthwick team. We don't use personal bylines or made-up experts. Read our editorial policy and how we handle corrections.

How the site is paid for

Some pages link to shops, and we may earn a commission if you buy (see our advertising disclosure). We may show display ads in future.

Our sister sites

Tilthwick is one of a small group of independent UK sites with the same owner. Where it genuinely helps, we link to them: Plankley for raised-bed timber, shed bases and path quantities; Furrowgear for rotavators and small machinery; Gladeburn for lawns and mowers; Bunkerley for food storage and household readiness; and Drystead (coming soon) for water butts and run-off. We link to a sister site no more than once per article.

Who runs Tilthwick

Editor: operator details go here once Jamie supplies OPERATOR_NAME and OPERATOR_ADDRESS. Production builds refuse until then.
